A cardiologist from the Philippine Heart Center died Saturday after contracting coronavirus, allegedly from a patient who lied about her travel history.

Dr. Israel Bactol, 34, was from Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija. He finished college and medical school at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila on scholarships, according to friends.
